We love it when we get to work with clients who share our values of putting people and planet ahead of profits. We also love it when we get to film animals. This project combined both those things in one happy marriage, as we documented one of Tyler Grange’s Community Days at Farms for City Children. It was also our first official project as newly qualified drone operators!
Who or what is a Tyler Grange?
Tyler Grange are based all over the UK, providing ecology, arboriculture and landscape planning services. Think bats, trees, newts, all that good stuff. What’s even more exciting, though, is their culture. We’ve been working with them since the middle of 2020, alongside marketing agency MP&Co, the primary goal being to showcase that culture for potential new recruits.
What’s a Community Day?
TG invited us along to one of their Community Days at Wick Court Farm, part of a wonderful charity called Farms for City Children. Everyone at Tyler Grange gets one paid day per month to volunteer for a cause of their choosing. It might be something they organise themselves around a cause that’s dear to them, or it might be something organised centrally by the company. Farms for City Children does fantastic work providing outdoor experiences for kids who would otherwise never get them. Tyler Grange have been partnering with Wick Court Farm for years now, helping them with various jobs around the farm. Sometimes it’s just a question of needing several hands on deck to clear a patch of land. As well, the Tyler Grange team provide expert advice in their specialist fields. Often the ‘field’ part of that is very literal.
Drone: on
Our favourite part about this project, besides the great human and animal company, was that it’s the first time we’ve used our new in-house drone skills on a client video. We’ve been working with drones for a while, but previously we’ve always relied on freelance support. We decided it was time to bring it in-house. So in November 2021 we bought our first drone and received our A2 Certificate of Competency from the CAA. We couldn’t have picked a better first project as drone operators! The weather was perfect, despite a miserable forecast, and the gorgeous Gloucestershire countryside looked stunning from a height.
If you’ve got an awesome company culture, get in touch to see how we can help you shout about the good stuff you’re doing.
