A friend of mine asked me to help her create a video of her reading Judi Walker’s poem ‘Don’t Tell Me’ for a memorial service as part of Baby Loss Awareness Week. The words are simple but powerful, so I wanted the style to be as natural and direct as possible.

I've been producing digital content since 2012, primarily for flagship BBC brands like Blue Peter and BBC News. Now I run Studio 91 Media, a video production agency on a mission: to create content that is good for platforms, good for people and good for the planet. When I'm not behind a camera, I can often be found playing cello at weddings or riding a three-wheeled cargo bike called Babs.
Kite Smart Alarm System
MaxxOne, an online-based security brand, approached us to create an animated promo video for their new wifi-connected alarm system. The clean, playful graphics are designed to demonstrate its reliability and user-friendliness. The product is plain white and doesn’t look especially sexy on its own, so it was important to place it in situ within a […]
Andy Lee is a coach, helping people and businesses become the best version of themselves. Social media is a big part of what he does, so he asked us to create a cover video for his Facebook page. The aim with these videos is pretty simple – to communicate a sense of brand, without overloading […]
BBC Philharmonic Orchestra
We’re really excited to be partnering with the BBC Phil over their coming season, creating several pieces of video content for their social media accounts. To begin with, they asked us to come along to one of their Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. They needed an interview to be uploaded to Facebook as soon […]
Our first music video
Strings Attached are an acoustic wedding band/string quartet hybrid, based in Manchester. They’re part of a wider collective of bands called Good Indeed Music, who asked us to create a music video for a new Strings Attached medley. The plan was to make it feel like a live performance and to help potential clients visualise the […]
Union Pictures asked us to create a brand identity that could somehow combine a clean, modern style with a nod towards classic Hollywood. What do you think of the result?
Pentecost Party
Yes, you read that right. Hull Community Church invited the whole neighbourhood in for an epic morning to celebrate Pentecost, and asked us to film it. The aim was to capture the fun and wonder of the event, to help their goal of building community through Facebook. Event highlights videos like this one can be […]
I’m really proud of this film, which I wrote, directed, shot and edited. Iceland has a huge number of cultural links with Hull, which are being celebrated during its City of Culture year. I headed up to Reykjavík with a small but perfectly formed team (Kofi Smiles and Martha Mangan) to explore these connections. This VT […]
This was one of my favourite days ever: getting to meet the absolute star that is Ellen DeGeneres, and produce an interview between her and Lindsey Russell for Finding Dory, as part of my day job on CBBC’s Blue Peter. Being kids’ TV, we don’t tend to go for straight, sit-down interviews, so I thought it would […]
Rivers Run branding
New three-piece acoustic band Rivers Run approached me looking for some branding that reflected their music: “Sincere and honest, the songs speak of truth, heart and guts”. It needed to feel natural and down-to-earth but also sleek, modern and versatile. For this reason, we decided to go for a flat stencil-like design that could be superimposed onto a […]
